Angels Landing

Years ago, in the morning before work, I would drive into the valley on that same exact road the white-roof cars are on, and then I would run up to the same elevation this photo was taken at, and then I would run back down.

The total circuit, up and down, would take me about an hour.

Of course, I would turn around at that chain part, which covers the last 200 meters of the route — I would only do that chain part when I wasn’t running, I’m not crazy.

Then I would drive home and shower and go to work.

What an incredible blessing that is, to know that whatever comes your way during the day, those cars are how small the human world is, and it was your body, the same one that is sitting in that chair in that meeting room, that made it look that way just a few hours ago.

Not me in the photo — I got this photo off the internet.
