Preply

The teachers, at least at Preply’s pricing high end, tend to be 30-35 years old, which means they have, at best, spent 10 years witnessing and solving the problem your company faces.

Many of them have a methodology they will mention in their videos.

A methodology is great if it aligns with the solving of your problem. However, in my opinion, worshipping the god of methodology often gets in the way of solving the problem. That tends to become a mess quickly in a group, and this is why:

A single learner tends to be pretty self-directed and can benefit from almost any tutor.

However, working with a group tends to be more like “herding cats,” and the challenge is staying focused on the problem the company is solving.

Each person in the group will respond to a different methodology. Which means some members of the group will be able to solve your problem immediately, and others never will. Your money, and their time, will be wasted.

Solving the problem needs to be the first priority, and enforcement of the methodology needs to rotate flexibly around that, not the other way around.
