AI is flatpack furniture

The other day I was helping a client with her presentation. She had fed her slides into AI, which produced a nice script for her to read.

I went about fixing the script, adding in the transitions, popping the data that was crucial to the point, sinking the stuff that wasn’t, etc.

My client marveled at the huge difference in effect between the original AI version and the revised version, and went off all happy and ready to conquer the world.

With your presentations, like with your sales documents, AI is going to get you 90% of the way there. But 90% means you sink into oblivion just like everyone else. AI is flatpack furniture. It’s great to have all the boards and screws and nuts in one place, but if you want to turn it into a bookcase that actually holds books, you’re going to need a human.
